Mevlevihane, Darüşşifa
In order to enrich our student's cultural and social life, throughout the academic year different kinds of activities are organized to bring together the students with artists and scientists so that they can be a proper model for them. These activities take place in Süleyman Demirel Culture Centre; with a big lecture room with 528-audience capacity, four other small lecture rooms with 150 audience capacity, and an amphitheater with 2000 audience capacity, and in different kinds of conference rooms within the departments and graduate schools. With the participation of our university students, Classical Turkish Music and Turkish Folk Music Chorus carry out their rehearsals and give concerts all through the year. Turkish Folk Dance Club performs various local dances every year. These groups participate in domestic and foreign competitions and successfully rank in the highest degrees. Moreover, there is a cinema with 120 audience capacity and a studio flat in our university.

Our university students benefit from the dormitories of General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories Agency.There is a dormitory in Salihli run by a local foundation. Another dormitory with a 1000-student capacity constructed in Muradiye campus where Faculty of Science and Letters and Faculty of Engineering are located. In addition to this, there are a lot of private dormitories that provide very good services in Manisa.

Scholarship and Credit Opportunities
Our students benefit from education and additional loan given by General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories Agency. Students insufficient financial income can be part-time workers in different units of our university under the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. At present, approximately 300 of our students work in different units of the university.

Celal Bayar University Student Clubs Union is constituted under the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. All kinds of science, sport, culture and art activities are arranged in order to maintain and improve our students' physical and mental health and to make them use their leisure time at the university's facilities and areas in the most proper way. Each suggestion and demand of administrative board of Clubs are taken into consideration and evaluated by the chairmanship of Health, Culture and Sports Department and all kinds of support is given to these clubs. In our university, under the Union of Student Clubs, there are 86 active cultural, art, sports, educational and professional clubs.

Celal Bayar University Culture and Sports Union was founded in 1993. All activities are run with the cooperation of Celal Bayar University. The Club supports all scientific, social and cultural activities of the university in every way. Folk-dance groups, sport teams and polyphonic children's choir are founded and various activities are conducted for the members of the Club, for the locals of Manisa and for our students so that they can do various sport activities, involve in cultural activities and make use of their leisure time in the most productive way. In addition; basketball, volleyball, handball, gymnastics, shooting, bicycle riding, archery, mountain climbing, scouting, judo, taek won do, boxing, karate, tennis, table tennis, badminton, weight lifting, wrestling, track and field, swimming, billiards, fencing, chess and bridge branches are registered to General Directorate of Youth and Sport. In some of these branches, categories of "tiddlings, "stars and "young ones are formed and in the competitions they rank in the first number three. Commercial enterprises are opened to reinforce and improve the Club. These enterprises are run under the Club to give more qualified services. The Club's goal is to improve these commercial enterprises so that they can give good services to the students.

The goal of our foundation is to help and support higher education units and institutions that are founded in Manisa. From the date of foundation, it has worked in harmony with our university. Celal Bayar University Higher Education Foundation, with a lot of new projects, continues to serve to Celal Bayar University.

The students, the staff of our university and the children and the spouses of our staff benefit from the services of Department of Health, Culture and Sports. Health services of the students in the provinces of Manisa are provided by the public health institutions located in the provinces of the vocational schools. In the department of medico-social center, there are 2 specialist doctors, 1 a general practitioner, 2 dentists, 7 nurses, 1 laboratory assistant, 1 clerk, 1 X-ray technician, and 1 medico secretary. In this center, urgent treatment is given to the students and the staff. If further treatment is necessary, they are transmitted to the University Hospital. All kinds of injury, illnesses, and physical disability which occur as a result of sportive and cultural activities are treated by this center whether the students have another health insurance or not.

The aim of the food services is to provide our students with high-quality, reasonable-priced, healthy food in a warm atmosphere. Our university has a total of 19 refectories and 1 A la carte restaurant located on the Main Campus, Muradiye Campus, Demirci campus, and in the provinces of Manisa where there are vocational schools. 3% of successful students having financial problems benefit from the food services free of charge. In all our faculties, high schools and vocational schools, there are modern canteens and cafeterias.

Every summer we have summer schools open to the locals of Manisa. In these schools education is given by the expert academic personnel and qualified students. The branches of these schools are determined by the general needs and demands of the public. Especially the swimming, tennis, gymnastics, Pilates, step-aerobic courses organized for 5-15 year-old children and adults are very popular. To organize these courses, Celal Bayar University School of Physical Education and the Culture and Sports Club work collaboratively.

Sports services are collaboratively organized by the department of Health, Culture and Sports and the School of Physical Education and Sports in order to provide the students with an appropriate atmosphere and opportunities. Every year, in March, April, and May, we organize football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, and chess tournaments with the participation of the students from all faculties, schools, and vocational schools. Accommodation, food and transportation needs of the students participating in the tournaments are supplied by the department of Health, Culture and Sports. In addition, our students regularly participate in the volleyball, basketball, handball, football, athletics, cross, gymnastics, wrestling, judo, teak wan do, karate, tennis, table tennis, fencing, and swimming organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation and they come back with successful results. Accommodation, food and transportation needs of the students participating in the inter-university competitions are supplied by the department of Health, Culture and Sports. Our university has indoor and outdoor sports facilities. We have an Olympic swimming pool, a fitness center, football pitches suitable for athletics, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts.

Mevlevihane was constructed in 1368-1369, by the architect Osmanoğlu Emetullah on an order by Sarunhanoğlu İshak Bey. This construction was restored during the Ottoman Reign three times, one in 1664-1665, one in 1681 and the other in 1693-1694. In 1960, it was restored again; however, it became a ruin after a short time. It was lastly restored by Celal Bayar University in 1999-2001. Mevlevihane turned into a museum in 2005 with the participation of 12 china sculptures, clothes, and things; and with the Turkish and English documentations of the Press and Public Relations Office of Manisa Celal Bayar University. Turkish and foreign tourists can visit it at any hour during the day.

It was constructed for Hafsa Sultan, the mother of Suleiman the Magnificent, in 1539. The famous Manisa Mesir Paste was mixed in this building located in the building complex of the Sultan Mosque. It served as a hospital until the Turkish Republic was founded. It also served as a lunatic asylum after 1850s. It was restored from time to time during the Republican era; it also served as a Health Museum; and in 1994 it was transmitted to our university. Now it serves as a public library with its 12000 denoted books in its 6 reading halls. Anybody can read the books in one of these reading halls.
