TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal met with students and academics at Manisa Celal Bayar University.
Attending the event were Manisa Celal Bayar University Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çetin, Prof. Dr. Kadir Ay, Prof. Dr. Oktay Üçer, Acting Secretary Öğr. Gör. Erhan Doğan, Senate Members, Center Directors, academics, and students.
In her opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar expressed her satisfaction with Prof. Dr. Mandal's visit to the university. She stated, "TÜBİTAK is one of the most important institutions in our country in the field of science and technology. Prof. Dr. Mandal's visit to our university and meeting with our students and academics is a great gain for us."
Continuing her speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar stated, "With projects funded by TÜBİTAK, as well as research conducted in areas such as ARDEB, BİDEB, BİTO, and many others, our university is taking significant steps towards becoming a research university with the contributions of both our academics and students. In the last 5 years, Manisa Celal Bayar University has participated as the coordinator in a total of 49 projects, including 13 TÜBİTAK 1001, 20 TÜBİTAK 1002, 2 TÜBİTAK 1005, 3 TÜBİTAK 3001, 2 TÜBİTAK 3501, 1 TÜBİTAK 2218, 1 TÜBİTAK 3005, 4 TEYDEB, and 1 SAYEM project, as well as 2 international projects."
At the meeting held with students at the Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal provided information about TÜBİTAK's activities and support for young people. Emphasizing the importance of youth for Turkey's advancement in science and technology, Mandal encouraged them to prioritize science and technology and engage in related studies. He detailed TÜBİTAK's scholarship and project support programs for students.
Prof. Dr. Mandal said in his speech, "Turkey's future lies in investing in science and technology. Therefore, we are working to increase young people's interest and love for science and technology."
Following the student meeting, Prof. Dr. Mandal met with academics. During this meeting, he provided information about TÜBİTAK's research funds and support programs for academics.
In the conversation held in a friendly atmosphere with academics, Prof. Dr. Mandal learned about the university's research and development activities. Additionally, discussions were held on how to increase academics' participation in TÜBİTAK programs.
The program concluded with a group photo session after addressing questions from students and academics.
