Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar Participated in a Meeting That Will Shape Turkish Higher Education
Manisa Celal Bayar University Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar attended the "Turkish Higher Education Vision Towards 2030 Meeting," organized by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) and hosted by İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University (İKÇÜ). The meeting, held at the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall at İKÇÜ, was attended by rectors and senior representatives from 43 universities in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions as well as Cyprus. The event began with an opening speech by YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.
In his speech, YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar emphasized that the rapid technological changes in recent years, including automation and artificial intelligence-based solutions, have shaped the most in-demand career programs. He stated, "Accessible, high-quality, productive, research-oriented, innovative institutions that embrace digitalization, encourage internationalization, and support employment will play a critical role in the future of higher education. As the Higher Education Council, we aim to ensure the widest possible stakeholder participation when determining and implementing our policies. We believe that working together in this process is of great importance."
The meeting was considered an important step in shaping the future of Turkish higher education policies and strengthening inter-university cooperation. Presentations were made on topics such as quality-focused process management in universities, digital transformation, data-driven management, the international reputation and visibility of universities, and the concept of entrepreneurial and innovative universities. Participants had the opportunity to discuss projects aimed at increasing quality in education and to define development goals for higher education by 2030.
In her statement regarding the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar said, "Meetings like these, which will shape the future of Turkish higher education, are extremely important both for strengthening inter-university cooperation and for improving the quality of education.
