The 9th Anniversary of July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day Commemorated with Meaningful Events in Manisa
The 9th anniversary of July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day was commemorated with meaningful events held in Manisa. Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çetin participated in the events.
The first event of the day included a visit to the Garrison and Police Martyrs' Cemetery, where carnations were laid on the graves of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. Prayers were recited during the visit, and the martyrs were remembered with grace and gratitude.
Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar attended the commemoration program held at Cumhuriyet Square, alongside Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan, Member of Parliament for Manisa Murat Baybatur, Chief Public Prosecutor Kurtça Eker, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Major General İlhan Şen, public institution officials, representatives from civil society organizations, and citizens.
After a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's speech at the Gölbaşı Special Operations Command was broadcast live.
The event continued with a performance by the Mehter Band, a Sufi music concert presented by faculty members of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture of our university, religious hymns sung by the Provincial Mufti’s staff, and prayers.
At the end of the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar stated, "July 15th is a symbol of our nation's determination and spirit of unity. We remember our martyrs with mercy and our veterans with gratitude. As Manisa Celal Bayar University, we will continue to stand by our democracy and independence at all times."
