Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBU) continues to strengthen its internationalization vision with its steady growth in the Erasmus+ KA131 Higher Education Mobility Projects for the 2023–2025 period. According to the results announced by the Turkish National Agency, the university’s total grant budget increased from €264,320 in 2023 to €360,590 in 2025, marking a 36.5% rise. With the €360,590 grant awarded in 2025, MCBU reached the highest project budget in its history. This success is considered a significant indicator of the university’s sustainable development in project capacity and international cooperation under the Erasmus+ program.
Among the 18 higher education institutions in the Aegean Region that qualified for KA131 grant support, MCBU ranked 8th in terms of total grant amount. When examined by mobility types, MCBU ranked 1st in the region for internship grants, 3rd for staff training mobility, and 5th for teaching assignments. The Erasmus+ KA131 projects saw notable momentum particularly in student internship mobility and staff teaching/training activities. The number of student internship placements increased from 41 in 2023 to 54 in 2025, while the total quota allocated for staff mobilities rose from 26 to 36.
This growth in Erasmus+ KA131 projects supports the university’s goal of expanding its international partnership networks and offering more opportunities for students to gain experience abroad. In the coming years, MCBU aims to send more of its students and academic/administrative staff to European universities, enriching mobilities not only in quantity but also through projects focused on content and quality.
