Manisa Celal Bayar University Provides Strong Support for the "Green Homeland Mobilization": Saplings That Will Breathe Life into the Future Meet the Soil
Manisa Celal Bayar University carried out its events for the November 11th National Afforestation Day under this year's main theme, "Green Homeland Mobilization." As part of the university’s environment and sustainability-focused approach, the project titled "Breathing with Science from Manisa" led to the planting of blue cypress saplings on the campus grounds.
The tree planting ceremony was held in the green area in front of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.
The event was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kadir Ay, as well as Secretary General Erhan Doğan, along with numerous academic and administrative staff and students. Participants actively contributed to enriching the university campus's green landscape by planting saplings.
In his speech during the ceremony, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kadir Ay emphasized that universities have significant responsibilities in raising awareness of environmental issues and maintaining ecological balance. Prof. Dr. Ay stated:
"As Manisa Celal Bayar University, one of our fundamental goals is to raise environmentally conscious generations in the light of science. On this meaningful day, each sapling we plant as part of the 'Green Homeland Mobilization' is not just a tree; it is also a symbol of fresh air and hope for the future. With our 'Breathing with Science from Manisa' project, we are determined to spread this awareness throughout our community."
Manisa Celal Bayar University will continue its efforts to raise awareness on environmental and sustainability issues. After the saplings were planted, the event concluded with a commemorative group photo.
