Beyza Nur Akgülü, a student of Manisa Celal Bayar University, achieved a significant success at the 2025 European Universities Karate Championship held in Warsaw, Poland. In a competition with 326 athletes from 145 universities, Akgülü reached the final and earned a silver medal, securing the European runner-up title.

With this success, Akgülü also became the first athlete from MCBÜ to win a medal at the European Universities Karate Championship.

The MCBÜ Karate Team ranked 17th overall, with athletes Kübra Yazıcı, Nurbade Büber, and Gülçin Akyıldız advancing to the quarter-finals, successfully representing the university.

After the achievement, Karate Team Coach Prof. Dr. Pınar Güzel Gürbüz expressed her gratitude: "We thank our Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar and our academic and administrative staff for their unwavering support at every stage of this journey.
