The 2023-2024 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony of Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Engineering took place at the Recreation Area of the Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Campus.

The ceremony was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çetin, Prof. Dr. Kadir Ay, and Prof. Dr. Oktay Üçer, Faculty Deans, Vocational School Directors, Rector Advisors, academicians, administrative staff, graduates, and their families.

The ceremony began with a speech by the faculty valedictorian, Emine Sevinç, on behalf of the graduates.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Ahmet Türk stated, “We are experiencing the joy and excitement of sending off 871 engineers who have graduated from our programs in Computer, Bioengineering, Electrical and Electronics, Industrial, Metallurgy and Materials, Food, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering. As the Faculty of Engineering, we have equipped you with the fundamental knowledge necessary for your future success, provided by our qualified academic staff. I have no doubt that you will succeed in your engineering careers with the skills you have gained here. The engineering diploma you receive today is a key. This diploma will open various doors for you in the future. It is up to you to recognize the value of this key and use it correctly.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar expressed their deep sorrow over Israel’s attacks in Palestine, which have killed more than 35,000 civilians, including 15,000 children and 5,000 women, since its establishment, ignoring all legal norms and humanitarian values. She emphasized the hope that the ongoing oppression and brutality, especially in Gaza, Rafah, East Turkestan, and Rakhine, would end as soon as possible.

Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar announced the upcoming opening of the Manisa Celal Bayar University Aviation and Defense Technologies Research and Design Laboratory, established in collaboration with Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ). This laboratory will provide education in various fields, including material selection, development and numerical modeling, mold design, innovative manufacturing technologies, and end-to-end simulation technologies in the aviation sector. She addressed the parents: “Dear parents, your place in this graduation, having raised and nurtured your children with great dedication and sacrifices up to this moment, is very valuable, and you deserve the highest applause. Beloved families, continue to be there for our students in their future endeavors as you have been until now. Trust them, as we have great faith in our graduates.”

Rector Prof. Dr. Kibar continued by highlighting the significant milestone in the students' educational journey, saying: “Never lose the sense of pride and confidence that comes with graduating from Manisa Celal Bayar University, one of the most distinguished universities in our country. Remember that with the diplomas you have earned today, you have responsibilities to your family and yourselves. There is much to be done with this awareness. The success you will achieve on this path, thanks to the education you have received, will make us proud as the Manisa Celal Bayar family, just as much as it will your families and yourselves. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. May your path be bright and fortunate. May God be your helper and protector.”

The Graduation Ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates of achievement to the top-ranking students, the symbolic presentation of graduation certificates to all graduates, commemorative photos with faculty members, the engineering oath, and the cap-tossing ceremony.
