Manisa Celal Bayar University DILMER 2024-2025 Graduation Ceremony Held
The Graduation Ceremony of the 2024-2025 Academic Year at the Language Teaching Application and Research Center (DILMER) of Manisa Celal Bayar University was held with great enthusiasm at the Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center.
A total of 99 students celebrated their graduation: 22 from the Turkish Language Teaching for Foreigners course and 77 from the Turkish as a Foreign Language Program.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çetin, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Ayşe İlker, academic and administrative staff, as well as numerous guests and students.
The program began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by a speech from the top graduate, Roghayeh Jafarı Yengıkand, who spoke on behalf of the graduates. Yengıkand shared her deep interest in the Turkish language, emphasizing that learning Turkish in this beautiful city and under the guidance of valuable professors had truly brought life to the words.
In his speech, DILMER Director Prof. Dr. Suat Donuk highlighted the center's academic and cultural activities, stating, "We did our work with joy because at the heart of our work was the Turkish language, the voice of our national spirit." Prof. Dr. Donuk also emphasized that teaching Turkish is not only about language transfer but also about cultural interaction and the sharing of universal values.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çetin began his speech by greeting the students in their own language and said, "Our students did not just learn a language; they also got to know a culture and became the voluntary cultural ambassadors of Turkey."
During the ceremony, the graduates performed traditional Turkish folk dances, recited poems, and staged a play, all of which were highly appreciated by the audience.
At the end of the program, achievement certificates were presented to the top-performing students. Graduates received their symbolic diplomas and tossed their caps into the air. The graduation ceremony ended with applause.
