MCBÜ commemorates the 18th March Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs

In Manisa Celal Bayar University, within the framework of the commemoration activities for the 109th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, a panel titled "18th March Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs Remembrance Day" was organized.

The panel, held at the Prof. Ümit Doğay Arınç Cultural Center, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ahmet Çetin, Prof. Dr. Kadir Ay, Prof. Dr. Oktay Üçer, General Secretary Lecturer Erhan Doğan, academic and administrative staff, and a large number of students.

In her speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar stated, "The Çanakkale Victory is a symbol of a great and heroic resistance that shapes human history. Çanakkale is one of the brightest examples of the Turkish nation's love for homeland, independence, and courage. The struggle of a handful of homeland children against the invading enemy, without any hesitation, under seemingly impossible conditions, has been written in history with golden letters."

Rector Kibar emphasized that Çanakkale is not only a past victory but also an inspiration for the future, saying, "Çanakkale is the expression of a nation that resists even in overwhelming weakness, changing the course of history with a heroic struggle. On the 109th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, our duty is to preserve our national unity and solidarity, to uphold the indivisible integrity of our homeland, to keep the sacred memory of our martyrs alive, and to be worthy of the legacy they left us. On this important day, I remember all our martyrs with mercy and our veterans with gratitude."

At the panel moderated by Prof. Dr. Ayşe İlker, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Muhammed Şen from Ege University Turkish World Research Institute gave a presentation on the "Çanakkale Wars." Res. Assist. Dilek Akyar from MCBÜ Turkish Language and Literature Department also gave a presentation titled "In Remembrance of Çanakkale Martyrs" within the context of Mehmet Akif's poetry.

The program concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the panelists and a group photo session.
