The Nursing Week events, organized in collaboration with the Department of Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Manisa Celal Bayar University, the Directorate of Health Services at Hafsa Sultan Hospital, and the Manisa Branch of the Turkish Nurses Association, attracted great attention.
The program began at the Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center on the Health Campus with the laying of wreaths at the Atatürk Monument, followed by a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem. The ceremony was attended by Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Oktay Üçer, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Seyhun Kürşat, Deputy Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Balcıoğlu, President of the Manisa Branch of the Turkish Nurses Association Abdullah Tuncal, representative of the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services Birgül Bozkurt, academics, students, and many guests.
Opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Oktay Üçer, Prof. Dr. Seyhun Kürşat, Prof. Dr. Emre Yanıkkerem, Specialist Nurse Abdullah Tuncal, and Nurse Bahar Erdelikanlı. The Nursing Department Accreditation Certificate was presented to Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Oktay Üçer by Prof. Dr. Dilek Özmen, President of the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Nursing Education Programs (HEPDAK).
A Uniform Ceremony was held for first-year Nursing students. A panel themed “Our Nurses, Our Future: Investing in Nursing Strengthens Economies” was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tülay Sağkal Midilli and Nurse Bahar Erdelikanlı.

In the foyer, an art exhibition prepared by first-year nursing students under the guidance of Lecturer Gürol Yeraltı was opened. Members of the Nursing and Innovation Club presented all guests with a “Flower of Hope.” The event concluded with a musical performance by students from the Faculty of Fine Arts Music Department and the presentation of certificates of appreciation.
